First we mapped out the floor with the tiles...

...then we did some tile cutting (with the tile saw we borrowed from some of our cool neighbors)...

...filling in all the plywood, even under where the toilet and vanity will be.

Then, we stirred up a crudload of mortar...

...and while that was happening, we took the tiles out to the living room trying (not so successfully) to arrange them exactly as they were in the bathroom.

Next was spreading the mortar...

...after which, we started laying the tiles...

...and laying tiles some more...

...and pressing on the tiles, and realizing we had used a bit too much mortar because it squished up between the tiles, so then cleaning the tiles.


Whew!

Looking pretty good! Next step is to grout.

There was more stuff like using a long piece of plywood to stand on the tiles while we sponged them off, using Q-Tips to remove excess mortar from between some of the tiles, cleaning the mortar bucket and tools in the street... but hopefully these pics suffice.
