Three Full Days

Happy Friday, good ProPil readers! We hope the weather where you are will be as good all weekend as it is supposed to be here.

Our weekend plans are ambitious and involve the basement and the yellow room, and maybe the upstairs stairwell. We're psyching ourselves up. We'll be celebrating Labor Day with three full days of labor. I expect we'll have a bundle of good befores and afters next week.

If you were curious about what we'll be putting on the basement floor, it's called DriCore. Pretty neat stuff. After work I'll be going to pick up 350 square-feet of it. It's supposed to be subfloor, but we'll just finish it with sealant if we like how it looks.

Front page of the ProJo today is Carcieri talking about laying off 1,000 state workers. He tried to institute 12 furlough days for state workers, but the unions fought it in court. He's ratcheting up the pressure.

In other news, most of our garden is dying back. One superhero cucumber plant is still producing. Planty the Plant seems about ready to don her veil of white flowers. Sue went to yoga on Wednesday, and she said the controlled exercises helped her shoulder. I'm making banana bread for my colleagues at work, so the sweet aroma is wafting into the dining room.

Take good care, everyone!
