Ready For Painting

The dragonboat races have been rescheduled for the 26th. Not sure who can come from our team, but should be fun.

Sanding is now 99% complete in the basement. There are a couple places over the door frame that I should do, but the walls are ready for painting. The flooring should be just about finished by the time the weekend rolls around.

For your pleasure, a few more pics of basement progress. The first two relate to Sandra's comment from yesterday. Once everything is done in there, it'll be imperative to sweep, vacuum and wipe down every single thing in the basement. Even with a vacuum-attached sanding pad (see PS), the dust is pervasive.

The other part of the house that's about ready for painting is the upstairs stairwell. We've taped all the woodwork, and it's all prepped and 99% sanded (need to sand around one of the new switches that I fixed up with spackle - the fire switch for the boiler at the top of the basement stairs). We're going with grays, and we're sure they're not purple this time.

PS
This is the high-tech vacuum-attached sanding contraption I've been using to sand the walls.

My next appointment will not be with a dentist, but an endo-dentist (endodontist). Arg. The roots of my tooth are long and calcified, so a specialist in Swansea with a big microscope is going to need to complete the procedure. That said, the nerve is gone, so I have no more pain. Quite a relief.
