Moving Day

Today was moving day. Three guys from the moving company arrived at about 9:30. There was bad traffic on 495, or else they would have arrived at 8:30.

Throughout the day we were in contact with our lawyer, Bruce. Apparently the sewer bill was at issue. He said he thought we’d close on Friday, the next day. He guessed the chances were 80% we would and 20% we wouldn’t.

The movers were very nice and worked fast. It was stupid hot outside, so there was a good deal of sweatiness going on. They left at about 3:30 after loading our belongings into a truck about twice as big as was necessary.

Also, fortunately, they agreed to deliver our things at noon to Providence as opposed to delivering them at 9:00 as they usually do. Potentially, this would give us time to close in the morning, so we could go “on record” by the end of the day.

We set out for Providence at 4:30, and we spent the night near Stamford in a Best Western.
